DOLOMITES 2025 – A MOUNTAIN FAIRYTALE

LAGO DI MISURINA, CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, PANEVEGGIO PARK, MOENA, LAKE CAREZZA, VAL DI FIEMME, VAL DI FASSA, VAL DI FUNES, ST. MAGDALENA, ORTISEI
(On the outbound journey we visit KRANJ and BLED, and on the return UDINE)

Tour program:
5 days / 4 nights with breakfast / by bus / DAYTIME TRAVEL

DAY 1: BELGRADE – KRANJ – BLED
Departure from the center of Belgrade in the early morning. Daytime travel through Croatia to Slovenia with regular breaks and border crossing. Accommodation in Kranj (for the May Day departure, accommodation will be in the Gorenjska region or central Slovenia), followed by a sightseeing tour with a guide. If time allows, an optional excursion to Bled will be organized. Overnight stay.

DAY 2: KRANJ – LAKE MISURINA – CORTINA D'AMPEZZO – CAVALESE
Breakfast. Drive to the largest natural lake in the Cadore region – Lake Misurina. We suggest a walk around the lake or a relaxing break in a lakeside café/restaurant with a breathtaking view of the famous Tre Cime! After a break, we continue towards the queen of the Italian Dolomites – Cortina d’Ampezzo, a long-standing retreat of the rich and famous. Free time along the elegant Corso Italia shopping street. We recommend an Aperol on one of the charming piazzas or taking the cable car (operational depending on the term) up to Tofana di Mezzo – Cortina’s highest peak at 3,244 meters – for a spectacular panoramic view of the Dolomites. Evening arrival and hotel check-in in the Trentino region. Overnight stay.

DAY 3: PANEVEGGIO PARK (VAL DI FIEMME) – MOENA (VAL DI FASSA) – LAKE CAREZZA
Breakfast. Free time or a full-day optional excursion to Paneveggio Natural Park in the Val di Fiemme, the village of Moena in Val di Fassa, and Lake Carezza in South Tyrol. The “Paneveggio” nature park includes the Pale di San Martino mountain range and is known for its dense forests and vast unspoiled wildlife areas. A large enclosed habitat houses deer and other ungulates, allowing visitors to observe these majestic animals up close. During this excursion, we’ll also visit the famous suspension bridge along the Marvo trail in pristine nature and learn how fine violins are crafted from precious spruce trees. We continue to Val di Fassa, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dolomites, and the village of Moena (1,200 m), known as the “Fairy of the Dolomites” thanks to the pink light that bathes the peaks at sunrise and sunset. Next, we visit Lake Carezza (Karersee in German), one of the most iconic natural landmarks in the Dolomites. Towering above the lake is Mount Latemar, whose bare peaks reflect on the lake’s surface, creating a view that, especially at sunset, looks like a stunning oil painting. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 4: CAVALESE – ST. MAGDALENA (VAL DI FUNES) – ORTISEI – FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
Breakfast. Hotel check-out and departure for a optional excursion to St. Magdalena in Val di Funes and Ortisei. (Note: Travelers who choose not to go on the excursion will be dropped off at the entrance to Bolzano and picked up later according to agreement with the guide.) Val di Funes is renowned as one of the best spots for landscape photography. From the small alpine settlement of St. Magdalena, a stunning view opens up over the Dolomite mountain range and the famous little church of the same name, nestled above charming alpine cottages. We continue to Ortisei, a town known for its wood-carving tradition, decorative arts, and authentic alpine architecture featuring wooden houses and hotels. The town also has a picturesque pedestrian zone connecting St. Ulrich’s chapel to St. Anthony’s church, a symbol of Ortisei. Evening arrival and check-in at a hotel in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Overnight stay.

DAY 5: UDINE – BELGRADE
Breakfast. Hotel check-out. Free time at a designated spot until departure for Belgrade, or an optional city tour of Udine. The walking tour covers the historic center of Udine and its beautiful Venetian Gothic architecture. Sights include: Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, Piazza della Libertà with the remarkable Loggia del Lionello and Torre dell'Orologio, followed by Udine Castle, offering panoramic views of the town's rooftops and the Julian and Carnic Alps, whose snow-capped peaks can be seen in the distance. Departure for Serbia around 1 PM. Arrival at the starting point around midnight.
